Shipping Costs

So I received a tweet from a competitor's website today offering a discount on shipping costs if you would spend $50 +!   When I see that I ask myself why are you marking up shipping in the first place?  Shipping is a fixed cost.  If you rely on that for income you may have some core issues. They were offering a sale price on shipping cost when they were marking up the shipping cost in the first place to add to the bottom line!   Our shipping cost is as close to the actual shipping cost as we can get.  In fact on 50% of our orders we may lose a buck or two on shipping.  We are not in the infomercial business to make money on shipping and handling, we would rather offer products at a reasonable price and offer a great product to make our customers happy!
