Case 1

Which belt replaces it?

Tip: classic A, B and C belts are named by their INSIDE length. Your tape measure goes around the OUTSIDE.

Width = section

Measure straight across the top. 3/8" is 3L or 3V, 1/2" is A or 4L, 5/8" is 5V, 21/32" is B or 5L, 7/8" is C.

A, B, C: add a little

The number is the inside length. Outside is 2" more for A, 3" for B, 4" for C. An A90 measures 92" around.

3L, 4L, 5L, 3V, 5V: divide by 10

The number is the outside length in tenths. A 4L920 is 92" around, the same belt as an A90.

Notches and ribs

Notches on the inside mean a cogged belt, with an X: AX, BX, 3VX. Several belts joined across the back is a banded belt, like 3/B90.
