My 15 year old Craftsman 46" snow thrower requires a 111" kevlar-wrapped kevlar-stranded tuff 5/8" belt.
Over many years, I bumped into so many things that the overall length of the machine was gradually reduced. I eventually needed shorter belts: a 110", and then eventually a 109" belt.
I've been using the 109" for about 4 years, buying three a year from V-Belt Guys. I get about 20 hours of hard use per belt. You have to adjust belt tension after the first 10 minutes of use, and then again after about 40 minutes of use. Then again after about 6 hours. The secret to long belt life is a high-quality belt, proper belt tension, regular service to all of the pulleys (grease under the seals), and always idle down before you engage the electric clutch. V-Belt guys is my go-to supplier for belts for this machine. High quality belts at good prices, with fast flat-rate shipping. Thanks.
