The belt I bought is about 1/2 the price of the OE dealer. Last time I knew the belt was due to be replaced but I kept putting it off. when it broke, I had to pay dealer price and got an OE belt. I properly installed it and it flew apart within 1 minute on first use. The dealer said they never saw a new oe belt come apart like that, especially with a spring tensioner (meaning I had not overtightened it). so even genuine oe belts can be defective. The second replacement belt is still on the mower now, but it is getting due - so now I ordered from v-belt guys and I am saving money! I will put it on at the end of the season. It looks equal or better than the OE belts.
