What a strange and wonderful guitar. I have it tuned CGDAE, and the low C is great fun. Double stops using that low C sound a little muddy, but other than that it's a joy to play. Coming to this from the octave mandolin it has felt easy to transition. Having a blast with it and glad I didn't just get a regular tenor guitar. Been affectionately calling it the creamy monster.

Well, the Warren Ellis 5 certainly delivers on its promise: It's a 5-string guitar which covers the range of any 6-string guitar in E standard tuning, and then some. Right out of the box, the bridge is a bit finicky when it comes to adjusting saddles for intonation (particularly on the low C string) and the rail-style neck pickup is noticeably higher output than the bridge pickup (which I'm chalking up to string positioning) but the build quality is second-to-none: no fret sprouts, no poorly-soldered electronics, no need to even adjust the action/neck relief. No one else is putting out these odd & interesting electric stringed instruments in such large production numbers, & at such high quality, as Eastwood Guitars, and it's no surprise why innovative artists such as Warren Ellis are willing to release so many Signature models. This is my third tenor-style guitar I've bought from Eastwood, and I'll most certainly be a returning customer once I'm in the market for a new instrument. Thank you!

This is my 4th Eastwood and 2nd from the Warren Ellis range. The quality is always very consistent and the guitar was immaculate. I like the blade pickups. Some don’t like the 6 string bridge with 5 strings, however it allowed me to add a Duesenberg trem unit, which adds extra fun.

Absolutely awesome instrument. I love the low C, it makes all chords sound huge. The guitar arrived well set up, well packaged. Love the hardcase! If you currently play tenor guitar and always wished there was a bit more "oomph" to it, this is for you. Plays very well (fingerstyle), looks sharp, feels solid all around (especially the tuners). I purchased the Warren Elis 5 model to have a different tool, after trying it for a few Days I realisedit was not really for me, I contacted Estwood and was able to return it and get a new modelat no extra cost, I swapped it for the Jeff Senn Model T and have to say I'm really satisfied.
